Learning From One Another
Team Thai Rak

Someone mentioned to me, "when you’re through with learning, you’re through". Don't really have a clue why he told me that, I don't even know him. Never mind who he is, at least, I know I’m not through yet, I can learn something from someone I don’t even know (while I was passing out water in the public rest room at the SCB Park Plaza. Strange place to learn, isn’t it?)

Even more strange, we sometimes can learn something from other Hashers as well. See, don't under estimate your fellow Hashing man. For example, I learned from one of the weekly write-ups that Rudy said the shouting "how are you?" is in fact, incorrect. According to Rudy, the shouting should be "are you?", which is the abbreviation form of "are you on?" Nice to know isn’t it?

At this point, some might say "so what, I don't give a %#@!" If I want to shout "how are you?", I’ll continue to shout "how are you?", "It’s no body business to tell me to shout other wise". Of course, that I cannot and will not argue.

What ever you want to shout fits me just fine. My only point is to illustrate that you might be one of those who are "through with learning", no one else can teach you any thing any more. And for your consolation, you’re are not the only one in the BH3 that feel that way. Last Saturday for example, when one of us suggests that it would be nice to have a little bit of democracy in the way we do thing in the BH3. A lot of Hasher see nothing wrong with the suggestion. After all, democracy doesn’t hurt an organization, every body knows.

However, one guy's reaction was –"you, shut up". (Someone told me that this --"you, shut up"-- were used 32 times at the circle). Don't tell me about democracy, I know all about democracy. Democracy comes from the old Turk's words, deriving from Demon + Crazy. That's pretty much describes who he is, I would say.

Learn and continue to learn, friend. BH3 is a friendly bunch. We always back our friends, but could you make it a little easier for us to do so.

Another matter entirely....
Team Thai members admit to discussing the following over dinner recently:
Basically, it was about the merits of mixed hash runs on Saturday (the best day of the week to run hash).  An alternative weekly Saturday hash could be designated from a new geographic centre e.g. the Nonthaburi H3... or just be the Bangkok Elite Saturday Team (BESTH3). Concepts discussed included that there would be a democratically elected GM and committee with no fixed term.  Runs would be a maximum of 1 hour, and a 99 Baht pay-by-the week run fee would apply for all members and visitors alike.  Everyone would be made to feel welcome (i.e. 'fresh' membership would be encouraged to join in by the likes of Suffle with a Thai-style of courteous and intelligent approach - he has been learning off Wichanee). Transport would be available for visitors. "52 hares are queuing up", one opinion leader suggested. In future weeks agents of Team Thai may seek your input and support in person or through this page.... think about it.
