Another

"F
A Q" Section
Because
our Bangkok BH3’s website is getting more popular
every day, I felt an urgent need to set up a "FAQ"
section. Why we need to have the "FAQ"?
Well, there are at least, three reasons:
To
fool our website visitors that there are a lot of
people out there interested in the BH3 and its activities.
These visitors have flooded our website with all
sort of questions hence, we set this "FAQ"
section up for their easy reference and information.
To disseminate our bullshit information to those
who do not know us well enough. Let’s blindly hope
that our useless information could be useful, one
way or another, to others. That unrealistic hope,
at least, makes us feel better. And last, to fool
our own selves that a great number of people, somewhere,
out there are genuinely interested in the BH3.
May
I introduce you to the first, but faked, "FAQ"
to kick start our soon to be famous section.

--"Why
BH3 do no have many Thai members?" (Between
ourselves, the question should read "why a
lot of Thai hate the BH3 farangs and refuse to run
with them?)
To
answer this question, we had interviewed some 32
Thai who ran with the BH3 at one time or another,
during the last six and a half years. Here are some
of the answers that we’ve got from them.
1.
White Supremacy
--
"Even though farangs at the BH3 are exceptionally
nice and friendly towards Thai new comers in general,
we the Thai, still feel down and low when we run
with them. It’s just like we have received the honor
that we don’t deserved. The feeling is overwhelm,
hence make us too ‘heavy’ to run with them."
--
"We felt so uncomfortable to be treated so
nicely by them, it should be the other way around,
I presume."
--
"I personally hope that there are more crude
and mean farangs in the BH3 so I would feel more
at home when running with them."
--
"I felt too much honored and extremely proud
to have a chance to exercise with this group of
the fine gentlemen. The feeling make my breathing
difficult so I decided not to come back for more."
2.
Those Thai bastards
--
"We somehow felt that we’re not welcomed by
those local Hash members. I can see, their eyes
flash the "disapproval" signal to me,
every time I made an eye contact."
--
"Some Thai members act as though the BH3 is
their exclusive club and so sacred that new locals
are not allowed to join. I really want to piss on
these people."
--
"I once tried to be friendly and opened a conversation
with a group of Thai, some of them just walked off—acting
as though they don’t understand their own language.
Vichai (not real name), was one of those snobs
who walked off on me, I remember his fat tummy well."
3.
You don’t treat our local nobles well
--
"You, farangs, don’t know that most local members
are the noble men, it’s your guys privilege to get
to know these people. But you treat them far less
than what they deserved. I detest that and I refuse
to join the BH3."
--
"I heard with my own ears that one of you,
called Khun Phansak, "hey, stupid". You
guys should know that kind of words do not exist
in Thai vocabulary. This is totally unacceptable."
--
"You should treat you Thai members with more
respect i.e lower their quarterly sub, listen
to their advice and most importantly stop talking
about their in-laws—this is very rude in the Thai
culture."
The
next "FAQ": "Why do the Thai join
the BH3 ?"
About
the author: Khun Ting Nong Noi is an exchange
student who is now doing his Doctorate degree in
"Other applications of Amphetamine" at
the Shan State University. He writes frequently
to NEWSWEEK, The Review and Time
magazines. It is not quite certain, at this stage
whether his articles has been published by those
who received them.
Indicative
comments received:
"I think this latest Thai article is lousy.
It is not constructive and may create hatred between
Farangs and Thais. The author may have the
problems with his wife or someone at home.
Your GM should sack him from the Thai team."
FROM "A half Thai/Farang (born in Thailand)"
"Khun
Ting Nong Noi's comments about Thai/farang relations
was interesting. I am sorry that more Thai people
do not enjoy the Hash. But to think that the current
group of Farang members of the Hash are anti-Thai
is wrong. Those who are anti-Thai are in fact just
socially-dysfunctional, asses who feel inferior,
therefore they need to belittle others in order
to compensate for their insecurities. Or
maybe it is just an "English Thing".
The Mismanagement Committee should be more open
and the membership of BH3 should realize if they
are not more friendly and accepting, (please guys
drop this attitude that "We are the only Hash
in Bangkok, We are the best, which is really just
an expression of insecurity) there will be few people
who want to join on a regular basis. The result
could be that the only people who attend the Hash
are "old farts" (ex-GM's and those who
don't want to be GM) and visitors who come here
expecting a good hash time and find to their dismay
a insular insecure bunch which is really opposite
to the spirit of Hashing as practiced by other clubs."
