WHY DO WE PUT UP WITH IT?

Recently, discussions and debates were heard and made on several occasions among the Thais. The main subject focused on "Is it time for bh3 to move one step forward and adopt the new constitution?"

1. The right to vote. From now on, all the regular members should have the right to vote. Voting is required on such matters which are too important and too sensitive for the Committee alone to decide i.e. To raise or lower the subs, Pitak's funds, Hash accidental insurance coverage, the parallel runs, transportation substitutes for outstation runs etc.

2. The AGM Election. The GM and his committee should come clean by the election. This should be done similar to the recent senators' and Bangkok Governor's elections. The highest scored persons who get the major votes will get the jobs i.e. the highest score for the GM followed by JM, On SEC, Cash etc. Anyone is eligible to get elected including previous ex-GMs and previous committee. The GM should be the one who is the most popular and well liked by the majority of the members.

3. Impeachment. Members have the right to impeach their "cabinet hashers" provided that more than 50% of the members agree to this. We should not tolerate a lousy committee who cannot do the job well and have to be stuck with them for the rest of the term.

It would be interesting to hear what others think. We should not follow the old rules blindly and be left with the old sacred words like "tradition, seniority, old farts, in my time etc."
